Cryotherapy uses liquid nitrogen to remove unwanted skin blemishes, lesions, sun and age spots that cannot be removed by Intense Pulsed Light (link to treatment info) treatments. It is a relatively inexpensive, safe and reliable treatment that dermatologists have used for years to remove diseased skin tissue and cells.
How Cryotherapy works:
Liquid nitrogen is preserved at -150 degrees Celcius. It is sprayed onto the lesions to be removed for a few brief seconds, destroying the abnormal skin cells.
What to expect from Cryotherapy:
The treatment takes a few minutes to do and has a slight stinging sensation as it is applied to the skin. We recommend applying Bactroban to the affected areas twice a day for a few days, being careful also to apply a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen for the next couple of weeks.
